Croatia at an International Tournament in the Emirates

The Croatian national football team will participate in the W Cup international tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in March.

The Croatian Football Federation has reached an agreement for the national team’s involvement in the inaugural Winsunited Cup, scheduled to take place from March 22nd to 26th, 2024, in the Emirates.
In addition to Croatia, the W Cup will feature top African teams, Egypt and Tunisia, along with the best team from Oceania, New Zealand.

The semifinal matches are scheduled for March 22nd, followed by the losers facing off on March 25th for the third-place match. The winners of the semifinals will compete for the inaugural W Cup title on the following day. The tournament will be held every two years, with additional information on pairings, exact timings, and match locations to be announced later.

“We wanted to take advantage of the March slot for this type of tournament, featuring strong opponents in one place, which was not easy to organize. However, the Croatian national team has a great reputation, especially thanks to the results of the past five years, and we have managed to find an excellent solution that fits all parameters of what the coaching staff led by coach Dalić wanted. The opponents are fitting, and the stay in the Emirates will primarily serve to create quality ‘chemistry’ on and off the field ahead of the Euros in Germany,” stated Marijan Kustić, president of the Croatian Football Federation.
“We have been hoping for a tournament like this where we will play two good matches because all participants are quality teams. Additionally, we will have excellent training and working conditions. Our stay in the Emirates will primarily be used for team-building, as was the case in 2022 during the friendly tournament in Doha. The March slot is an ideal opportunity for us to lay good foundations and create the right atmosphere for everything that awaits us in Germany this summer,” commented coach Zlatko Dalić.

Tunisia Joins the W Cup Fray in the UAE

(TAP)-Tunisia’s national football team will participate in the Winsunited Cup (W Cup), an international tournament held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 22-26, the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) confirmed on Monday.

Alongside Tunisia, the tournament will feature senior teams from Croatia, 3rd at the Qatar-2022 World Cup, Egypt, the record holder for African titles, and New Zealand.

The semifinal matches will be played on March 22, followed by the losers facing off on March 25 in a match for the 3rd place. The winners of the semifinals will play for the inaugural title of W Cup champions on the following day.

Argentina wins FIFA World Cup – Qatar2022

?1978, 1986 and now in 2022! Argentina have clinched their third FIFA World Cup title in an emphatic finale, which was truly worthy of being the decider.

?As a tweet beautifully captured it, “Last time Argentina won the world cup, Messi was 1. Today, he was the one!”

⚽️Messi took control of the game early on and kept growing as the game progressed, helping his side go 2-0 up and later, 3-2 up. Mbappe matched Messi with his brilliance as he scored a hattrick, become only the 5th player to do so in a FIFA World Cup final, though it wasn’t enough on the day. Messi lost the Golden Boot but claimed the Golden
Ball.

? Emi Martinez was up for the challenge too, as he not only made some remarkable saves in regulation time but was splendid in the shoot-out as well, yet again, claiming the Golden Glove.

?Mbappe showcased he is ready to lead the next era of football and has achieved a lot already at just 23 and ended the World Cup with something to cheer for- Golden Boot

?Enzo Fernandes was another key member of the Argentine midfield and packed a punch, which saw him emerge as the Young Player of the tournament.

Over to Christmas celebrations, followed by some Boxing Day football!

Croatia’s bronze medal shines as bright as gold

?Croatia would be jubilant after a well-deserved second consecutive podium finish as they emerged third at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 , having finished runner’s up in the 2018 edition.

?A country with less than 4 million people achieving this in six appearances with their first coming only in 1998 is remarkable

??Between 1998 to 2022, Croatia has the 3rd highest podium finishes (1998 ? 2018 ? 2022 ?), only behind France and Germany. They have fared better than football powerhouses such as Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, England, etc. who failed to qualify for the semi-finals even in the 2022 edition.

?At 37, magician Luka Modric continues to be the engine of the Croatia team. While he might have played his last World Cup game, he could very well be a part of the side for the Euros in 2024, having shown he has still got it in him #brazil

⭐️Gvardiol was awarded the Player of the Match award in the 3rd place play-off, and has been one of the most impressive players in the World Cup, which has also seen top clubs chasing his signature.

? With this, a small nation like Croatia has jumped to 7th on the latest FIFA rankings among the 211 members. Incredible!

While Croatia might have won a bronze medal, it shines as bright as gold!

Stadium 974 – Qatar WC2022

?Stadium 974, which was constructed from 974 shipping containers and represents the nation’s international dialing code, will now be demolished following the hosting of the final game planned there on Monday, between Brazil and South Korea

?It is only going to be dismantled to bring it back to life again, albeit, in another location. The stadium is going to be donated to countries that couldn’t afford to build their own stadiums.

?It is the first-ever FIFA compliant stadium that can be fully dismantled and re-purposed post-event. This includes the ability to build numerous smaller stadiums out of the same materials or to rebuild the stadium in a different site with the same seating capacity.

?Interestingly, this is the only stadium in use for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 without air conditioning. It is naturally ventilated and doesn’t need one.

?The stadium is referred to as Qatar’s beacon of sustainability. Stadium 974 highlights the sustainable and legacy aspects of Qatar 2022.
